Blazers Beat The Thunder 83-74 in OKC

Coming off a big win in Detroit over the Pistons,
Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder were back at home to play the Portland Trailblazers sunday night. And it didn't go so good for OKC.

Kevin Durant really struggled. He only had 16 points and his shooting was awful. He only made 3 shots out of 21 attempts. Durant also took five three point shots and missed them all.

The Thunder were lead by Russell Westbrook, who scored 23 points and Jeff Green pitched in with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

As for the Portland Trailblazers, their super star Brandon Roy wasn't much better as he was only 4-16 shooting and he too ended up with 16 points. Steve Blake lead the way in the Blazers' win by scoring 18 points. The Blazers' Greg Oden scored 12 points with 10 rebounds. Travis Outlaw added 12 and Martell Webster 10 to round out the Blazers' scoring. This game featured the first 2 picks from the 2007 NBA Draft in Durant and Oden. Oden's team came out on top this time 83-74.

Kevin Durant Rookie Cards. You Better Get Them Now!

With the rise of Kevin Durant and his Oklahoma City Thunder, look for his rookie cards to start catching some fire! You can find Kevin Durant rookie cards in 2007-08 basketball card sets.

I recently purchased a factory sealed box of 2007-08 SP Authentic basketball cards (Pictured above) and I just put it away in my closet and am not even going to open it up. Why? Well, I paid $85.00 for the box and I'm hoping that it rises in value in the future. As tempting as it is for me to bust open the box, I won't do it..lol!

Other Thunder rookie cards to get right now is Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook. Just like Durant, Jeff Green's rookie cards can also be found in 2007-08 basketball card packs and boxes. Russell Westbrook rookie cards can be found in 2008-09 basketball card boxes and packs. My suggestion to you is to start adding these young guys to your card collection now! Before they start heating up. Especially Kevin Durant rookies. I've got a feeling they are about to get a spike in price.

At least the Seattle fans have something to remember their NBA team by. All of Kevin Durant and Jeff Green rookie cards will feature them in their Seattle Supersonics uniform forever. Not the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kevin Durant Looks To Emerge To Super Stardom in 2009-10

I am a California native now living in the Pacific Northwest. Of course, living up here, they showed a lot of Seattle Supersonics' games on TV. So, I kind of adopted them as my second team.

Back in 2007, the Seattle Supersonics had the second pick of the NBA Draft. I remember Sonics' fans were hoping that their neighbors to the south, the Portland Trailblazers (Blazers had #1 pick in 2007), would pass on Ohio State's Greg Oden so the Sonics could pick him.

Of course we now know that the Blazers took Oden at number one and the Sonics "settled" for Texas Longhorns' Kevin Durant with their number two pick. And the Sonics "were" glad that they did.

I remember watching Sonics' announcer Kevin Calabro (Who I really miss) rave about Kevin Durant. We all knew he was going to be a special player. Like when he took, and made the game-winning shot in Atlanta against the Hawks. Or when he made some of his spectacular dunks.

Sonics' fans everywhere were so happy with the Kevin Durant pick. And rightly so, as Durant has improved every year he has been in the NBA. And Greg Oden? Well, he has been injury-prone for the Blazers. Although he is so young and I think he will still be a great player if he can just stay healthy for a complete NBA season.

Kevin Durant And The New, Exciting Oklahoma City Thunder

Now that I have vented about losing the Supersonics to the town of Oklahoma City, I want to talk about Kevin Durant and his young team, the Thunder. Even though I live in the Pacific Northwest, I still always check up to see how Durant is doing in his NBA career.

And you know what? The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the rise and are getting a lot better. They still get beat up by some of the better teams in the NBA, but they seem to now be beating the teams that they should win against. Like the Sacramento Kings, who they pounded a few days back, 104-89. And last night, they beat the Detroit Pistons in Detroit, 91-83. Kevin Durant had 25 points and 12 rebounds against the Pistons in the win.

The Thunder have a nice, young team with some really good players. Players like Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook and of course, Kevin Durant. They are lead by head coach Scott Brooks.
They are a fun team to watch and Durant could be heading for a career year in 2009-10.

The Day It All Fell Apart For The Seattle Supersonics And Their Fans

The saddest day in Seattle Supersonics' history was the day that Starbucks CEO and Sonics' owner Howard Schultz sold the team to Oklahoma City businessman Clay Bennett.

Howard Schultz later went on to regret it. We all know the story and what happened so I won't go into it too much. But to make a long story short, Clay Bennett moved the team to Oklahoma City. Which is probably what he intended to do all along after he purchased the team. Although he denies it and blames it on the city for not helping him get a new arena. Yeah....right...whatever.

So, there went Kevin Durant and the Sonics, a team that had been in Seattle since 1967. They are now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was really weird not having an NBA team in Seattle during the 2008-09 NBA season.
