The Day It All Fell Apart For The Seattle Supersonics And Their Fans

The saddest day in Seattle Supersonics' history was the day that Starbucks CEO and Sonics' owner Howard Schultz sold the team to Oklahoma City businessman Clay Bennett.

Howard Schultz later went on to regret it. We all know the story and what happened so I won't go into it too much. But to make a long story short, Clay Bennett moved the team to Oklahoma City. Which is probably what he intended to do all along after he purchased the team. Although he denies it and blames it on the city for not helping him get a new arena. Yeah....right...whatever.

So, there went Kevin Durant and the Sonics, a team that had been in Seattle since 1967. They are now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was really weird not having an NBA team in Seattle during the 2008-09 NBA season.
